Q: Where can I get an entry form for the events?
A: You can enter online here or request an entry form from your chosen charity. Or Contact the Great Scottish Events office via email at or call us on 0131 208 2500.
Q: Where do I enter any of Great Scottish Events?
A: Online www.greatscottishevents.org.uk or via posting your entry form.
Q: What’s an online application?
A: This is an online entry facility where you enter your details, pay by credit or debit card and receive confirmation mail stating your entry was successful.
Q: When do entries open and close.
A: Entries are now open to all events. Events close for postal entries on Wednesday 20th June and online entries Wednesday 27th June.
Q: Do you have a late check-in facility.
A: Yes, a late check-in will be open on Silverknowes Promenade beside the cafe from 10am Saturday 30th June and 7am on Sunday 1st July.
Q: Can I enter more than one event
Q: When do I receive my participation number and information on my event?
A: You should receive your number, information map and sponsorship form with one week on entering.
Q: Where can I leave my baggage whilst I am taking part?
A: There will be a left baggage area at the late check-in desk.
Q: Can dogs take part.
A: Dogs can take part but must be kept on a lead and under control at all times.
Q: Are there any prizes.
A: We shall award prizes for the 1st, 2nd & 3rd male & female runners in the 5k - 10k Runs and The Great Scottish Walk 20k.
Q: What happens if I lose my numbers?
A: If it is before the registration closing dates you may contact Great Scottish Events office or 0131 208 2500 and we will replace it. If after go to the late check-in desk and we will re issue you with new number.
Q: What happens if I wish to change my event after entering?
A: You will have to contact the Great Scottish Events office at: or 0131 208 2500 note if your entry has already been processed an administration fee will be charged.
Q: Are there refreshment stations.
A: There will be at least two water stations on all road events.
Q: Will there be First Aid
A: Full first aid stations will be provided throughout the Great Scottish Walk & Run Festival.
Q: How will I be timed?
A: The 5k & 10k runs will be chip timed with full race results published within 30 minutes of race conclusion and also on our website.
Q What are the starting times
A: The 5k Run 09:30am – The 10k Run 11.00am - The Great Scottish Walk 20k and The Golden Miles Walk 10.30am - The Great Scottish Toddle 1.00pm - The Great Scottish Tattie Run 2.00pm - The Great Scottish Junior Races 3.00pm
Q: How long is the toddle course?
A: Approximately one mile.
Q: Can children wear fancy dress.
A: Yes, we encourage all the little ones to dress up.
Q: What will the children receive on finishing the Toddle?
A: All Toddlers receive a medal, toddle completion certificate and a goody bag.
Q: Can buggies take part in the toddle.
Q: Can we enter the toddle on the day.
A: Yes, but it would be better if you can to enter before, as it does get busy.
Q: How much is it to enter the toddle.
A: £5 each child.
